Fresh water pills - Prompto has been awarded a bottle of forty to fifty small, brown tablets. The label bears instructions simple enough to follow. When in the vicinity of water, these tablets will, no matter how muddy and scummy said liquid may be, consistently purify the contents to a drinkable state. Not recommended for running water.
Let the lucky lottery winner beware; anyone else who tries to drink from the water purified by another survivor's tablets will only taste the silt and mud that should have been cleansed away.
Wind up torch - Noctis has been awarded a wind-up torch! Guess what's battery powered?
Not this item, that's for sure. The hand crank is all that's necessary to charge it, after which the powerful, warm beam of yellow light will last ten minutes before it must be cranked again. The smooth casing looks like plastic and feels like plastic, and when broken open by fate or misfortune or an overly-curious soul, it will shatter much like plastic would as well.
But inside, one would not find batteries or, indeed, any familiar electronic mechanism at all. Looks like it's also unable to work when broken unless some potentially powerful godlike creature could intervene to make it so. What a shame...
No bakes (bread) - (A short stack of twenty round, white cards roughly the shape and thickness of coasters don't seem all that special, at first. Yet adding a drop of water, no matter how dirty, to a single card will cause it to swell and bubble for a few moments, like seafoam - until at last it settles into a round, whitish loaf of bread.
One fist-sized roll, vaguely sweet in taste and akin to a muffin in consistency, is loaded with enough nutrients and protein to serve as one square meal. Ration them carefully. The bread will not go bad, but many animals, predator and prey alike, will not easily pass up the chance of free food.
Coconut cannon - Though large and unwieldy, the coconut gun is nonetheless a potent weapon. It works more like a cannon than anything else due to its size and weight and rather awkward shape. It's about the size of a large human infant and twice as heavy when loaded with its ammunition of, you guessed it - coconuts. Though slow moving projectiles, they are nonetheless powerful and capable of scaring away trespassers both sentient and otherwise, if not with the painful impact of a large coconut to the body, than with the loud, firework-like bang the weapon issues upon firing.
Similarly to a cannon, coconuts must be loaded one a time before they can be fired. The mechanism through which this operates is not entirely clear, as attempts to take the gun apart for parts will result in a useless heap of timber.
Coconut guns come with one (1) complimentary coconut. Any more ammunition must be scavenged.
